Whole cooked crawfish
Whole cooked crawfish is a close up image of a pile of freshly cooked crawfish – or crayfish, if you prefer. The crawfish red color is the result of them being boiled in water. The crawfish is a delicious meal all over the world, and is a great part of the southern american cajun kitchen. A big part of the worlds crawfish is cached in the waters around the state of Louisiana in America.
The big season for crawfish in Louisiana is from the beginning of march until sometimes in june. At this time the crawfish is big and affordable.
Also in Sweden the crawfish is a great part of the local food. Here they have traditional crayfish parties, called kräftskiva, which is held during august, where crawfish and the local alcohol, called snaps, is consumed in big numbers.
